
Balasore, Sept 13 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, organized a special Selection Camp under the aegis of its NSS Department to identify students for the upcoming Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. The initiative aims to give students a platform to showcase their discipline, talent, and teamwork on a national stage.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy, in his address, motivated the participants, saying, “This is not just a chance to march in a parade – it is an opportunity to prove your excellence, discipline, and teamwork. Prepare with dedication and hard work so that Fakir Mohan University’s name shines at the national stage.”
The camp featured physical fitness tests and training sessions led by PEO Sangram Bishoi and retired army personnel Harihar Sahu. Alongside parade preparation, a talent competition was also held to select students for cultural performances during the Republic Day celebrations.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Pratima Pradhan (NSS Programme Officer), Dr. Amulya Kumar Acharya (NSS Coordinator), and Mr. Gauranga Panda (District NSS DPO), who congratulated and encouraged the participants.
The selection will move from University to Zonal and State levels, with the top students earning the chance to march at Rajpath on January 26. Participants described the camp as not just a selection process but a dream and a proud journey they will cherish forever.
