
Kharagpur | September 13(Krushna Kumar Mohanty) A Parcel Vendor Meet was held at the office chamber of the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM), Kharagpur, under the chairmanship of Shri Nishant Kumar, Sr. DCM/KGP.
The meeting brought together Sr. DOM(Co)/KGP, ACMs, Commercial Inspectors, Chief Parcel Supervisors, representatives of parcel merchants, lease holders, and other key stakeholders.
The officers engaged in detailed interactions with parcel merchants, aggregators, lease holders, and trade bodies on issues related to parcel operations, customer facilitation, and enhancing revenue through better utilization of parcel space. Participants were invited to share feedback on operational challenges, booking processes, handling facilities, and possible areas of improvement.
Shri Nishant Kumar, Sr. DCM/KGP, emphasized the need to strengthen partnerships with parcel aggregators, MSMEs, e-commerce players, and local merchants to improve logistics efficiency. He highlighted the role of Indian Railways as a cost-effective and reliable transport mode and encouraged stakeholders to bring forward innovative proposals for service improvement.
The session ended with constructive discussions and a collective commitment to make parcel services more customer-friendly, competitive, and revenue-generating for Indian Railways.
