The auspicious launch ceremony of Odisha’s leading literary journal Akshyansha, organised under the aegis of Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad (FMSP), was held this afternoon with much enthusiasm.
The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Subas Chandra Patra, President of the Parishad, followed by an introductory note from Secretary Dr. Ratnakar Singh.
Editor of the journal, Dr. Harischandra Behera, spoke about the literary journals published in Odisha and shared his experience of editing Akshyansha continuously for the past 23 years. Honorary Editor Anjali Panda highlighted the literary publications currently brought out from Balasore and expressed hope that Akshyansha would continue to win readers’ appreciation.
Delivering the keynote address, Professor Rabindra Kumar Das of Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, discussed the present status of Odia literature in the global literary context.
The journal was formally released by Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy, Vice-Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University. In his speech, he praised Akshyansha and urged readers to engage with such meaningful publications.
On this occasion, poets Yashodhara Das, Preetilekha Das, Ranjan Bag, Jyotsna Ray, Ratnakar Singh, Jumar Nath Patra, and Deeptilata Das recited their poems published in the journal. Dr. Sarangadhar Tripathy was felicitated by the Vice-Chancellor.
The programme concluded with a poetry recitation and a vote of thanks by Kalyani Nanda, Joint Secretary of FMSP. A large number of literature lovers attended the ceremony, making it a memorable event.
