The 25th Foundation Day of the Mamata Charitable Trust was celebrated with great enthusiasm today at the Mamata Hospital premises, Chandrasekharpur (279 DCC). The Trust, founded by eminent freedom fighter Utkal Jyoti Rabinarayan Mohanty, has been providing comprehensive medical services and surgical care at highly subsidized rates for the last 25 years through Mamata Hospital.

In addition to hospital-based services, the Trust operates a mobile health unit that delivers free healthcare in several remote and inaccessible regions of Odisha. It has also been actively involved in awareness campaigns on physical and mental health, social issues, women empowerment, social justice, and environmental protection through tree plantation initiatives, informed Trust Chairperson Dr. Mamata Mohanty in her address.
The programme was graced by distinguished guests, including former MLA and senior BJP leader Priyadarshi Mishra as Chief Guest, and Dr. Pabitra Mohan Samantaray, veteran journalist National President of the Indian federation of Small & Medium Newspapers (New Delhi) and Editor-in-Chief of The Kalinga Chronicle and PARYABEKHYAK as Chief Speaker.
Eminent educationist Dr. Sunil Kumar Jha, Director of Centurion University, and retired senior administrative officer Ashok Kumar Pattanaik attended as Guests of Honour.
All dignitaries appreciated the humanitarian initiatives of the Mamata Charitable Trust and assured their continued support for its noble mission.
During the event, meritorious students from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Swami Vivekananda Vidyalaya, and various government high schools were honored with the “Ananya Award”. Senior citizens of the locality—Bipin Bihari Mohanty and Pranab Kishore Chhotaray—were felicitated with the “Pujyapooja Samman”.
The programme began with an insightful talk on world peace by B.K. Alekhbhai. The proceedings were conducted by senior social worker Ananda Chandra Pattanaik, while the Ananya and Pujyapooja award segments were coordinated by emerging social worker Dr. Debashis Pattanaik. A vote of thanks was offered by senior social worker Mukteswar Tripathy.
The event concluded with the distribution of prasadam.
