Sambalpur (KCN):
The JV-90 Annual Alumni Meet 2025, bringing together former postgraduate students of the 1988–90 batch from various departments of Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, was held amidst great enthusiasm, warmth, and nostalgia on Sunday at the Mini Auditorium on the university campus.

The much-awaited JV-90 reunion, being organised regularly since 2007 and hosted continuously at Jyoti Vihar for the past five years, was convened under the leadership of Mr. Suresh Chandra Kar, Chief Coordinator of the JV-90 Alumni Association.
The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University, Professor Bidhubhushan Mishra, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Nripraj Sahu, District Collector of Subarnapur and former Registrar of Sambalpur University, attended as the Guest of Honour, adding dignity and prestige to the occasion.
Editor-in-Chief of People Odia Daily Paryabekhyak and The Kalinga Chronicle, and National President of the Indian Federation of Small & Medium Newspapers, National Media Confederation, and Rashtriya Patrakar Mahasangh, New Delhi, Dr. Pabitra Mohan Samantaray, reflected on the enduring spirit of friendship, strong bonding, and mutual care that have defined the JV-90 fraternity over the decades.
Renowned scientist and Director of the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, Professor Dr. Karunakar Nanda, along with Divisional Forest Officer, Bargarh, Dr. Saroj Panda, shared their inspiring professional journeys and experiences. They underlined the transformative role of education in nation-building and highlighted the lasting contribution of Sambalpur University to academic excellence and social development.
The programme was conducted smoothly with the active coordination and support of Dillip Barapanda, Naresh Agrawal, and Pabitra Narayan Nepak, among others.
On the occasion, alumni who have achieved distinguished success in their professional fields were felicitated, including Mrs. Upama Kalo (IAS), Meenakshi Raj, Professor Dr. Karunakar Nanda, and Dr. Saroj Panda.
The meet concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Naresh Agrawal, followed by informal interactions that revived cherished memories of campus life and further strengthened the bonds of lifelong friendship among the alumni.
