Bhadrak, January 11:
A grand reunion of the Bhadrak Commerce Graduates – 1987 Batch was successfully held on Sunday at the Jhumuka Minor Irrigation Inspection Bungalow, bringing together hundreds of former classmates after 39 memorable years. The event, which has been organized continuously for the last 13 years, once again rekindled old bonds and revived cherished memories of student life.

Friends from different parts of India and abroad, including the Maldives, New Delhi, Jharsuguda, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Remuna, and Cuttack, participated in the reunion, making it a truly vibrant and emotional gathering. Participants from diverse professional backgrounds shared their life experiences, joys, and challenges with one another.
A special highlight of the reunion was the felicitation of classmates who have excelled and brought laurels to the batch in various professional and social fields.
The programme began with a moment of silence in memory of departed friends and friends’ sons, reflecting the deep emotional bond shared among the members. The event was held under the guidance of friend Pradeep Kumar Rout and coordinated by friend Pratibha Ranjan Maharana.
Prominent attendees included Asim Kumar Pal, Santosh Didwania, Prahallad Gupta, Suresh Kumar Agrawal (former Secretary, Bhadrak College Students’ Union), former S.S.G. Secretary Raj Kishore Nayak, Parshuram Pradhan, Nakul Behera, Prashant Mishra, Rabindra Nath Behera, Laxman Kumar Prusti, Sanjay Kumar Jena, Shukadev Nayak, Debananda Pani, Arun Kumar Biswal, Ajay Kumar Mallick, Sachidananda Beuria, Bishwanath Jena, Gour Chandra Mahanti, poet Sanjit Bal, Priyabrata Debata, Professor Surath Das, Basanta Kumar Pani, Pradeep Kumar Nayak, Nikhil Kumar Swain, Lokanath Das, Ashok Kumar Jena, Sushant Kumar Nayak, along with many other friends and their spouses.
During the meeting, Sanjay Kumar Jena proposed that next year’s reunion be held at Chandikhol, which was warmly welcomed by all with applause. It was also unanimously decided that the 2027 reunion would be held on the second Sunday of January every year.
Appealing to the spirit of lifelong bonding, friend Suresh Agrawal urged everyone to dedicate “one day for friendship.”
The reunion concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Pradeep Kumar Rout, marking yet another successful chapter in the enduring journey of friendship of the Bhadrak Commerce Graduates – 1987 Batch.
