Bringing pride to Guntur district, noted artist and arts educator Shakamuri Padma has been selected for the prestigious “India Arts–2026” Award in the Paintings and Clay Crafts category.
The award is presented annually by the Indian Literature and Arts Society, an organization recognized by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. The honour acknowledges Padma’s outstanding contribution to the field of visual arts and her dedication to promoting creativity among students.
Padma, a B.Ed. graduate in Science, began her professional career as a teacher. However, driven by her deep passion for painting and arts & crafts, she later shifted her focus to nurturing artistic talent among young learners.
Over the years, she has trained numerous students in painting and craftwork, inspiring children as young as five years old as well as people of different age groups who wish to explore their creativity.
Currently, she is serving as an Arts & Crafts Instructor at Delhi Public School Lam Guntur in Guntur district. Her dedication to art education and her efforts in encouraging creative expression among students have earned her recognition and appreciation from the art community.
Padma’s achievement has brought pride not only to her institution but also to the entire Guntur district, with well-wishers and colleagues congratulating her for this notable honour.
