US President Donald Trump mocked UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and accused him of being evasive about sending aircraft carriers.
During an Easter lunch speech at the White House, Trump claimed that Starmer said he would have to speak to his team before deciding to send over UK aircraft carriers for the US-Israeli war against Iran.
Trump said that the UK “should be our best” ally, but they failed the US during the war.
He continued, “I asked [the] UK, who should be our best. In fact, the king is coming over here in two weeks, he’s a nice guy, King Charles”, he said.
“But should be our best but they weren’t our best. I said, ‘You have two, old broken-down aircraft carriers, do you think you could send them over?’
“‘Ohhh, I’ll have to ask my team.’
