Prof. Dr. Rabi Chaturvedi, the first Indian Hindi commentator in cricket and an eminent educationist from New Delhi, along with Dr. Pabitra Mohan Samantaray, National President of the Rashtriya Patrakar Mahasangh, Indian Federation of Small and Medium Newspapers, and National Media Confederation, New Delhi, as well as Editor-in-Chief of Paryabekhyak and The Kalinga Chronicle Group, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, at Raj Bhavan.

During the interaction, Dr. Chaturvedi apprised the Hon’ble Governor about the current scenario of domestic and international cricket, emphasizing the need to promote the sport at the grassroots level. He highlighted the importance of identifying, nurturing, and grooming young talent, particularly from rural areas, to strengthen India’s future in cricket.

Dr. Samantaray, on the other hand, discussed key issues concerning journalists in Odisha as well as across the country. He brought to attention the challenges faced by media professionals and stressed the need for supportive measures to ensure the welfare, safety, and independence of journalists.
The Hon’ble Governor appreciated the initiatives and insights shared during the meeting and acknowledged the vital role of sports and media in nation-building.
The visit was marked by a meaningful exchange of ideas on promoting sports culture and strengthening the media ecosystem in the country.
