Preparations for Sambalpur’s famous Sital Sasthi festival, beginning on June 15, 2026, are underway with the district administration taking extensive measures to ensure a safe, smooth, and well-organized celebration. A Peace & Coordination Committee meeting was chaired by District Collector Siddheshwar Baliram Bondar to review arrangements.
Authorities have directed all departments to strictly follow scheduled procession timings to avoid disruptions. Separate exit routes will be arranged in crowded areas such as Nandapada, Jhaduapada, and Bada Sadak for better crowd management.
Special focus has been given to health, sanitation, drinking water, electricity, and public safety. Temporary health camps, 24-hour control rooms, mobile ambulances, ORS distribution, water tankers, and uninterrupted power supply have been planned. Police deployment, traffic control, fire safety measures, road cleaning, drainage repairs, and removal of encroachments will also be ensured.
The administration has appealed to citizens to cooperate in making the festival peaceful, disciplined, and successful.
