Bhubaneswar: Intensifying its stir against the MMDR Amendment Act, 2026, Odisha’s opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) staged a ‘mass dharna’ near the Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, demanding roll back of the new mining legislation.A large number of BJD leaders and workers joined the protest to press for immediate withdrawal of the new legislation, alleging that the amendment could affect Odisha’s constitutional rights, fiscal interests and legitimate interests in its mineral resources.
