
YOGA : NECESSARY TO INCREASE MENTAL STRENGTH
3500 students participated.

Under the effort and supervision of Mrs. Geeta Tripathi and Tridib Tripathy Ama Sanskruti Quiz, Yoga and Bhagavad Gita Chanting competitions were held in the premises of Buddha Mandir, Unit-9. This programme is conducted every year for creating awareness and revival of ancient Indian culture for students of various schools in Bhubaneswar.

A prize distribution ceremony was held for the contestants who excelled in these competitions.
On this occasion Dr. Debabrata Sahani, Mrs Sudatta Patnaik, Dr. Sourendra Mohapatra and Mr. G.S Sharma lit the lamp and disturbed prize. Dr. Sahani inspired the students to practice simple yoga techniques regularly to increase their mental strength. Mr. Sanjay Nanda discussed the importance of yogic lifestyle, guideline for happiness and relevance of ancient scriptures and the teachings of Bhagavad Gita in today’s time.
With the aim of creating interest and enthusiasm for ancient Indian knowledge and yogic lifestyle which is fading away in the touch of modernity, the said programme started from the month of July under the direct supervision of Mrs Geeta Tripathi with 3500 students from 41 schools of Capital. Out of them, a total of 52 were awarded. In the senior group Quiz Biswajeet Nayak of Unit-1 Govt. High School, in Yoga Sriyanshu Sekhar Das of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 and in Gita Chanting BJEM School’s Swayam Dash secured the first position. In Junior group Quiz, Unit-8 DAV School’s Naitika Bharadwaj Swain, in Yoga Om Kumar Patra of Om Gurukul Public School and in Gita Chanting Subhangi Sahu of DAV Chandrasekharpur won the 1st position.
