New Delhi:
A significant meeting of 19 organizations was convened at the DUCLSA office, University of Delhi, with a focused agenda to secure parity in rights and benefits for employees of Union Territories and Central Autonomous Institutions with those of Central Government employees.
Held under the banner of the All India NPS Employees Federation, the meeting unanimously resolved to constitute the “CAB & UT Employees Associations Forum,” marking a major step towards collective advocacy and coordination among employee bodies.
The newly formed forum aims to raise a strong, unified voice in support of employee rights and address long-standing disparities. Dr. Manjit Singh Patel was appointed as the Convener, while representatives from participating organizations were nominated as Co-Conveners to strengthen the leadership structure.
It was further announced that the next conference of the forum will be held on June 28 in Delhi, bringing together representatives from various autonomous institutions across the country. The conference is expected to pave the way for expanding the forum into a full-fledged Confederation.
In its statement, the forum highlighted the urgent need to abolish discriminatory practices and outdated laws persisting since the colonial era. It also affirmed that these concerns will be strongly presented before the upcoming 8th Central Pay Commission.
Co-Convener Vinod Yadav stated that all participating organizations have pledged to work in unity to safeguard employees’ rights and ensure equitable benefits. He expressed optimism that the collective efforts of the forum will yield positive outcomes in the near future.
