
Faridabad.ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Faridabad, has introduced guided meditation training for Insured Persons (IPs) in OPD waiting areas and the Inpatient Department.The initiative aims to reduce stress,improve patient experience,and promote mental and emotional well-being alongside medical treatment.The 10–15 minute sessions include breathing techniques,focused meditation, and guided relaxation, led by trained hospital staff and Heartfulness Institute volunteers. Heartfulness, a global non-profit with over 100 years of experience in meditative practices, has partnered with the hospital to bring holistic care to patients and caregivers.
Participants report feeling calmer, less anxious, and better prepared to manage health challenges. Doctors note that such practices can lower stress hormones, stabilize blood pressure, and support faster recovery.This simple, cost-effective initiative equips patients with lifelong skills to manage stress and improve sleep and emotional health,” said Dr. Kalidas D.
