Fatehpur: On the occasion of Indian Press Day, the Cyber Journalist Association (CJA) organized a special program in which several prominent journalists from across the country and the state participated. The event focused on discussions around the role of media in modern India, its credibility, responsibilities, and emerging challenges. During the program, key issues such as granting constitutional status to media as the fourth pillar of democracy, implementing a Journalist Protection Law, and strengthening journalistic unity were prominently discussed.
The chief guest, senior journalist, author and former MP Dr. Santosh Bharatiya, who arrived from New Delhi, shared his experiences from the era of 1990 to the present. He spoke in detail about his journey from journalism to becoming a Member of Parliament. He emphasized that journalism is not merely about reporting news; it is also about becoming the voice of the people and holding power accountable by showing the mirror of truth. He inspired young journalists by sharing significant incidents from his life and encouraging them toward fearless and impartial journalism. From Lucknow, senior journalist Alok Kumar Tripathi (Treasurer, UP State Headquarters Accredited Correspondents Committee & National President, Lucknow Journalists Association) shared valuable insights and principles of journalism. Senior journalist Rajeev Tiwari ‘Baba’ guided participants through ‘Navyog’, stressing mental peace and inner strength as essential elements for effective journalism. National Advisory Committee member Ashish Tiwari emphasized unity and strength within the organization.
Fatehpur-based senior journalists including Waseem Akhtar, Shivsharan Bandhu, Ramesh Chandra Gupta, Vivek Mishra, Saroj Pandey, Sandeep Kesharwani, Shamshad Khan, Prabhakar Pandey, along with social worker Ajay Tripathi, also expressed their views on various issues concerning the media. National President of the organization Shashwat Tiwari expressed gratitude to all guests and explained the objectives of the association. The event was conducted by National General Secretary Sheebu Khan. During the ceremony, late journalist Dileep Saini and former minister Late Munna Lal Maurya were honored with the ‘Janpad Ratna’ Award (Posthumous). The memento for late journalist Dileep Saini was received collectively by the journalist delegation. The memento for late minister Munna Lal Maurya was received by his wife, Usha Maurya (MLA – Husainganj), who expressed gratitude towards the organization. Additionally, city newspaper distributors were honored with the ‘Lok Sandesh Vahak Prahari Samman’. All journalists present at the event were also felicitated. The program concluded successfully.
