
Cuttack, 18/9-A joint memorial meeting was held at Gandhi Bhavan today evening to mark the fourth death anniversary of Praveen Saraswat Sadhika, social worker and educationist Manorama Mohapatra.
Eminent personalities participated in it and shed light on Dr. Mohapatra’s literary works, selfless public service and high-quality teaching.
CMC Mayor Subhash Singh attended the event as the chief guest and promised to take steps to preserve the lasting memory of Manorama Devi in Cuttack.
The meeting, chaired by senior journalist Dr. Satya Ray, was attended by Dr. Sindhu Nandini Tripathi, eminent social worker Chittaranjan Mohanty, lifelong member of Lok Sevak Mandal Dr. Prabhas Chandra Acharya, Dr. Ashutosh Debata, Dr. Surekha Sundari Swain, journalist Aurovinda Raut Ray, Pandit Ranjan Mohapatra, Braja Nanda, Murali Dhar Shatpathi, Meera Beura, Sharat Chandra Shatpathi, Mahija Dal Behera, Indira Arora, Kishore Chandra Das and others. It was announced that from next year, a prominent literary and social worker of the state will be awarded the Manorama Mohapatra Memorial Award.
