
Bhubaneswar: With the Nuapada by-election officially scheduled for November 11, the final voter list has already been published.
According to District Election Officer and Collector, Madhusudan Dash, the total number of voters in the district is 2,53,624. This includes 1,24,108 male voters, 1,29,495 female voters, and 21 voters from the third gender.
The voter statistics also revealed that there are 1,786 senior voters, 9,429 young voters, and 3,988 voters with disabilities in the district.
The by-election has sparked a fierce competition among the major political parties. While the Congress has already announced its candidate, the BJP and BJD are yet to announce their candidates.
It is learnt that a BJP core committee meeting is scheduled for today to discuss the by-election.
Notably, the by-election in Nuapada is set to be held following the demise of Rajendra Dholakia.
