Dehradun, March 11:
A delegation of journalists from Odisha arrived in Uttarakhand on Tuesday for a four-day media tour organized by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Bhubaneswar, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.

The objective of the press tour is to provide journalists with first-hand exposure to major development initiatives of the Government of India, as well as to showcase the cultural, historical and tourism potential of the state. Through their respective media platforms, the visiting journalists will disseminate information about these developmental projects and welfare schemes to a wider audience.
The delegation is being accompanied by Assistant Director Mahendra Jena and Information Assistant Vikas Ranjan Dalai of PIB Bhubaneswar. During the four-day programme, the team will visit several important institutions and infrastructure projects in Uttarakhand.
As part of the itinerary, the media delegation will call on the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh. They will also visit Shaurya Sthal, the Forest Research Institute, the Tehri Hydroelectric Project, the National Indian Military College, the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag Rail Project, and the Delhi–Dehradun Elevated Expressway.
During the tour, the journalists will interact with officials and gather detailed information about the ongoing developmental works in the state.
The visit will also provide the Odisha media representatives an opportunity to experience and understand Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, art and traditions.
Through this exposure visit, the journalists will collect information about various development projects and welfare schemes of the Government of India and share them with the public through their respective media outlets.
