
Bhubaneswar, Sept 14: The Odisha Government College Teachers’ Association (OGCTA) successfully conducted its election for office bearers for the 2025-27 term on September 4, 2025. The polling was held in 76 booths across the state, with the participation of over 2,000 members.
The much-awaited results were declared on September 12, 2025. Dr. Biraja Sankar Pattanayak was elected as President, while Dr. Ratan Acharya secured the position of Vice President. Dr. Sanjay Dutta was elected as General Secretary, and Dr. Jnana Ranjan Das as Joint Secretary. Dr.Aurobinda Das was elected as Treasurer. In addition, nine others : Dr. Binod Bihari Malik, Dr. Bibhudatta Behera, Dr Kabiraj Behera, Dr Suryakanta Naik, Dr Dipak Kumar Mohanty, Dr Narendra Nath Nayak, Dr Dipak Kumar Mohanty, Dr.Swapna Sarita Mohapatra and Dr. Santosh Behera were elected to key positions including Central Council Members, Zonal Vice Presidents, and Zonal Secretaries.
The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers was held today (September 14, 2025) in the Auditorium Hall of Geeta Govinda Sadan, Bhubaneswar. The elected body will now serve a two-year term, as per the constitution of OGCTA.
OGCTA, representing government college teachers of Odisha, has been a recognized body under the Home Department of the Government of Odisha since 1946. The association has played a significant role in safeguarding the interests of government college teachers and contributing to the academic development of the state
