Today, the people’s daily Paryabekyak proudly completes 28 years of its journey in journalism.
Marking the occasion, as in previous years, a mega blood donation camp has been organized this year as well at the local Red Cross Building. The formal 28 th foundation day celebration has been decided to be held in the month of May.
Before its emergence as a daily newspaper, Paryabekhyak had functioned for many years as a weekly publication, during which it consistently upheld journalistic responsibility, professional ethics, and moral values with unwavering commitment.
Dedicated firmly to safeguarding the rights and interests of the common people, Paryabekhyak has, on many occasions, faced the displeasure of the ruling establishment, administration, corporate interests, and certain influential individuals. Despite such challenges, the newspaper has never deviated from its core ideals or its chosen path.
For Paryabekhyak , news gathering for the people is not merely a routine task—it is an extraordinary and courageous mission. The newspaper has always remained a true voice of the masses. At the time of its first publication, its daily price per copy was fixed at Rs. 1.50, a price that remains unchanged even today. Although this decision has resulted in considerable financial strain, the newspaper has never compromised its responsibility towards the common people.
Just as Paryabekhyak was a newspaper of the people 28 years ago, it continues to be so today and shall remain so in the future. The people are its true owners and greatest patrons.
Even during the severe crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, PARYABEKHYAK successfully launched its digital and web editions, keeping pace with changing times. Despite facing acute financial challenges, the newspaper has continued to serve the people with dedication and integrity.
With the objective of making the organization more efficient, structured, and stronger, the management has appointed senior journalist Shri Bijay Kumar Das, presently working in New Delhi, as Executive Editor, and Shri Priyabrata Nayak as Publisher.
Shri Das is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) and possesses over two decades of experience in print, electronic, and digital media management. He has successfully served in responsible positions across national, state, and international media platforms.
Shri Nayak holds a postgraduate degree in Social Work and has gained substantial experience in the field of management and administration.
As Executive Editor of Daily PARYABEKHYAK and The Kalinga Chronicle Group, and as Publisher of Daily Paryabekhyak respectively, Shri Das and Shri Nayak are expected to earn the trust and confidence of countless readers, writers, well-wishers, advertisers, distributors, and colleagues. This belief is held with firm conviction.
On this auspicious occasion of its 28th Foundation Day, the Paryabekhyak family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all its readers, writers, correspondents, advertisers, employees, distributor friends, and above all, to the people of Odisha and Odias living across the country and abroad. The PARYABEKHYAK family wishes everyone a healthy, self-reliant, peaceful, and prosperous life.
