Balasore, 17/1 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty):The district administration has decided to celebrate National Voters’ Day on January 25 across Balasore district with enthusiasm and a strong emphasis on voter awareness.
A preparatory meeting was held in this regard, during which the detailed outline of the proposed programmes was discussed thoroughly.
On the occasion, a series of activities will be organised at both booth and district levels. At the booth level, newly enrolled voters will be provided with Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPIC). Voters will also take the voters’ pledge, and meetings will be conducted on matters related to e-rolls and other associated electoral issues. At the district level, a walkathon will be organised to promote voter awareness, followed by a pledge-taking programme. Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be felicitated for their outstanding performance. In addition, National Voters’ Day will be observed at colleges across the district to encourage youth participation in the democratic process.
To ensure the smooth and effective conduct of all these programmes, the preparatory meeting was held in the conference hall of the Collectorate. The meeting was attended by the Additional District Magistrate (General), Additional District Magistrate (Revenue), Sub-Collector of Nilagiri, and other concerned officials.
