
Balasore,(Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A Service Improvement Group (SIG) inspection was conducted at Jaleswar railway station today as part of the ongoing Amrit Station Scheme aimed at upgrading passenger amenities and modernizing stations.
The inspection was led by Shri Debjit Das, ADRM/Infra of Kharagpur Division, who reviewed the progress of redevelopment works. Key areas examined included waiting halls, seating arrangements, passenger information systems, and circulating area development. Cleanliness and hygiene at platforms and station premises received special focus.
The functioning of pay-and-use toilets was also inspected to ensure accessibility and proper upkeep. In addition, the One Station One Product (OSOP) stall, promoting local products and artisans, was reviewed.
Divisional officers from various departments accompanied Shri Das during the inspection. They jointly assessed ongoing works and discussed measures to further enhance passenger comfort and station aesthetics.
Officials said that Kharagpur Division remains committed to providing safe, clean, and passenger-friendly stations in line with the objectives of the Amrit Station Scheme.
