Balasore:(Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The 35th anniversary and 21st reunion of the Vani Vihar 1990 batch was held yesterday at Latika Convention, Ravi Talkies Square, Bhubaneswar, bringing together former students from different departments to celebrate lasting bonds and shared memories.
Addressing the gathering, the participants said that friendship remains eternal and continues to reunite people beyond time, distance, and professional differences. Built on trust, understanding, tolerance, and empathy, such relationships, they observed, need constant care and commitment in today’s fast-paced life.
Batchmates of the 1990 batch, now working in diverse fields including politics, foreign policy, education, industry, literature, music, science, research, technology, administration, business, mass media, banking, insurance, and other public and private sectors, came together to relive their student-life experiences. They shared personal and professional journeys, exchanged memories, and reaffirmed their resolve to uphold human values and positive thinking. The annual reunion was described as meaningful and exemplary.

As in previous years, several batchmates took the stage to recall unforgettable moments from their campus days, including experiences of friendship, separation, struggle, and reunion. Cultural activities such as songs, recitation of self-composed poems, light humour, and informal interactions added warmth to the programme. The event continued from 10 am to 4 pm in a lively atmosphere marked by music, conversation, food, and photography.
Batchmates including Kaliprasanna Mahapatra, Sushrirekha Mahanti, Alok Mishra, Tushar Ranjan Das (Lulu), Amiya Pani, Joginath Bahubulendra, Gautam Mahanti, Chinu Mishra, Madhusmita Swain, Pranati Ray, Sauryakanta Ray, Abha Mishra, Radhashyam Roul, Shashikanta Barik, Sanjeeb Kumar Jena, Khiroda Mishra, Shashankasekhar Jena, R. Madhabi, Arun Kumar Das, Laxmikanta Panda, Shridhar Sethi, Aniruddha Behera, Harshamani Nayak, Gayatri Dhal, Mamuni Panda, Brahmananda Panigrahi, Radhashyam Pallei, along with hundreds of batchmates and family members, attended the reunion and contributed to its success.
The programme concluded with warm greetings, an early welcome to the New Year 2026, and a collective promise to meet again next year, bringing the memorable gathering to a heartfelt close.
