Playing with the sentiments of tribal people can’t be tolerated:JSAM & JBM
Ranchi:
Marang Buru (Parasnath) belongs to tribal and Mulvasi community and will remain so If the government or someone tampers with it, then it will have to face serious consequences. The above things were said today by Vijay Shankar Nayak, Central President of Jharkhand Soochna Adhikar Manch and Central Coordinator of Jharkhand Bachao Morcha and former candidate of Hatia Vidhansabha Constituency. He further said thatThe tribal natives living in and around Parasnath hill know Parasnath by the name of Marang Buru. There is also a tribal temple on the hills of Parasnath, about which very few people know. In the Gazetteer of Bihar (Hazaribagh District, 1932), the entire mountain range was known as Marang Buru. Worship was done here during every Sarhul and tribal natives used to hunt here. But, after the dominance of the people of Jain sect increased, everything stopped here.
Mr. Nayak further said that it is very strange that people following Jainism have been using this place for years. Big buildings, temples and ashrams are being built on the land of the tribals, but the tribals are getting nothing except loss from it. While according to the 5th and 6th schedule of the constitution, non-tribals cannot buy the land owned by the tribals. But here people of Jain community are buying land indiscriminately and building high-rise ashrams. While constructing the buildings, the indigenous people living there are assured that they will get jobs, health and higher education. In the beginning, some facilities are also given, but as the institutions spread their feet here, then the facilities are stopped, which is a matter of investigation. He further told that
In these ashrams, boring is used for water, through which underground water is exploited. The sad thing is that the water used after bathing and defecation is dumped into the nearby river itself. It simply means that those who are running the Jain Institute here have no sensitivity towards the tribal natives and their land.
Shri Nayak further said that while climbing the Parasnath hill you will see many boards that this is a holy place. Eating meat, fish, drinking or smoking is strictly prohibited here. You may not find it scary ,to see this, but you should think that the tribals on whose land Parasnath is standing, there is a law of sacrifice in the worship of those tribals. In this way the Jains who have come here from outside have established their supremacy here. Took possession of the land, work, natural wealth and culture here and left behind those tribals who were the natives here. While climbing Parasnath hill, many tribal natives are forced to live like beggars. Such a scene was seen for the first time that despite being a forest-land, the tribal native here has been forced to beg.
Mr. Nayak said that the saddest thing is that the tribal government of Jharkhand itself is ignoring its people. The government does not seek answers from the encroachers even after several acres of land has been lost to the tribals. No action is taken by the government for non-fulfillment of the promises of hospitals, schools by Jain institutions. Sometimes it happens that the tribals have to give the documents of the land. As if they have come from outside and settled here. In short words, I would just like to say that here people are living a more painful life than Bastar and the Hemant Soren government has remained a mute spectator, which will be opposed.
