Rajdhani college, DU organize 5 Day Workshop on Python and its role in Physical Science

As the University of Delhi is celebrating its centenary year signifying 100 glorious years of education and empowerment, Research and Innovation Society, Department of Physics and Electronics, Rajdhani college, University of Delhi in collaboration with Centre for Innovation in Infectious Disease Research, Education and Training (CIIDRET) and Delhi School of Skill Enhancement and Entrepreneurship Development (DSSEED), a part of Institution of Eminence, have joined hands to organize a 100 days festival of training and skill enhancement. The purpose of this 100 day festival is to bring together students, teachers, academicians, industry and facilitators on one platform and provides an ecosystem that promotes learning, collaboration and networking. Many workshops, Hands on training courses and Faculty development programme (FDP) are being conducted by various Delhi University colleges and Academic institutions. Rajdhani College being one of the academic partners, also participated in this skill festival and organized a 5 Days’ Workshop.
The workshop began with motivational and encouraging greetings from our Principal Prof. Rajesh Giri, to all the participating members and it was inaugurated by Prof. Pratibha Luthra (Chairman, Governing body, Rajdhani College), Prof. Vijay Chaudhary (Director, DSSEED) and Prof. Amita Gupta(Director, CIDRET). In their inaugural speech they emphasized on the need for these kinds of workshops and Hands on training programs which helps in developing the skill of the students and making a strong foundation for an “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
The Talk for the technical session on the first day of the workshop was given by Mr. Siddarth Srivastava in which he emphasized on the importance of learning Python, its role in Physical Sciences and substantiated with many Practical Examples. He also discussed the role of Python in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. All the participants thoroughly enjoyed his talk.
For the next four days the resource persons for the various sessions of the workshop were Ms. Sheetal Mavi and Ms. Akansha Gautam from Department of computer Science, Rajdhani College. The various sessions consisted of theory lectures on Python in the morning followed by Hands on training session (Application of the concepts) in the afternoon. Participants form different colleges of University of Delhi and other Universities also attended the workshop. The Participants were accessed daily, on the basis of assignment and Quiz and in the last session of the workshop they made a small project by applying all the knowledge which they gained from the workshop.
The Valedictory function for the workshop was held on the last day of the workshop in the Rajdhani College Auditorium. The Chief Guest of the function was Prof. Raj Kishore Sharma, Dean Research, Physical and Mathematical sciences. He congratulated all the organizing committee members and participants on the successful completion of the workshop and awarded them with the certificates.
 
The organizing committee members, Dr. Mahesh Meena (Convenor), Dr. Anju Gupta, Dr. Omveer Singh, Dr. Akshta Rajan tayal, Dr. Krishnagopal and Dr. Rahul Gangwar along with dedicated team of student volunteers contributed a lot in the successful implementation of the workshop.
