Rajdhani College Launches CPR Training Workshop for Students and Professors

NSS Unit of Rajdhani College, University of Delhi organised a CPR Workshop in collaboration with Phoenix Institute of CPR at the College Amphitheatre. The workshop aimed to educate students the importance of CPR, and how to perform it correctly. The event was attended by Principal Prof Rajesh Giri, Program officer Megha Aggarwal and students including some college staff & faculty. This was held under the running “Project Naresh” of NSS Rajdhani.
The workshop began with a brief introduction to CPR, its importance, and its impact on saving lives. The instructor, Dr. Jitendra Singh Bansal highlighted the fact that CPR is a critical life-saving skill that could help a person in cardiac arrest to survive until medical help arrives. The students were also informed that performing CPR incorrectly could cause harm to the victim, which is why it is essential to learn it from a certified instructor. An awareness campaign was also launched by NSS volunteers in college premises.
The students were then given a demonstration on how to perform CPR. The instructor also explained the correct compression depth and rate, which the students practiced on mannequins. The students were also taught how to use an AED machine, and the instructor demonstrated its usage. A Question-Answer session also held where students asked their doubts that include the difference between heart arrest & clot, causes of heart arrest, good lifestyle, etc. The CPR Workshop was ended by the vote of thanks of NSS Rajdhani Program Ifficer Megha Aggarwal.
