divisional level workshop on “Safety in Handling Toxic Gases & Best Practices” 

Jajpur/Kalinganagar :- The Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Jajpur Road Division, Govt of Odisha organized a Sub-divisional level workshop at MIPL Hotel, Kalinga Nagar to create awareness among employees of different factories in Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar & Mayurbhanj Districts about achieving an accident-free work environment and zero harm. The programme was attended by more than 100 participants, including senior executives, managers, safety officers, and supervisors. The theme of the workshop was “Safety in Handling Toxic Gases & Best Practices”. The Directorate aims to enforce legislation for securing safety, occupational health, a good work environment, healthy work conditions, and the adoption of welfare measures in factories. Various important topics were discussed in detail during the workshop, including the handling of toxic gases like ammonia and other petroleum products. The Chief Guest, ADM, Kalinganagar, Shri Santosh Kumar Mishra emphasized the reduction of accidents in factories and the government’s concern in this matter. Deputy Director of Factories & Boilers, Jajpur Road Division, Er Umesh Chandra Sutar addressed the gathering and expressed his concern about the handling of toxic gases. ADFB, Balasore, Er Kedarnath Hansdah, also graced the occasion. Unit Head, Jindal Stainless, Jajpur, Mr Deepak Agrawal; Buisness Head (Phase-I), Jindal Stainless, Mr A K Singh; Director, VISA Steel, Mr Manoj Kumar, and Head, EHS, Mr Manoj Kumar Bal attended the workshop and talked about the importance of adopting Behaviour Based Safety(BBS) practices.
