The problems of fishermen should be solved

Warangal(KCN):

Godugu Venkat, District General Secretary of Telangana Fishermen, Jayapradham, has called today to protest against the discrimination in the allocation of budget to the fishermen by the central government and to organize a large-scale fishermen’s maha dharna at Chalo Delhi Jantar Mantar on April 3 on the issues of fishermen across the country. Godugu Venkat said that the BJP government at the center has failed by not allocating a budget of one lakh crores to the fishermen in the district committee meeting held at the district office of TMKMKS in Ram NagarHnk under the chairmanship of the district president Nimmala Vijender Mudiraj. He criticized that the central government, ignoring the problems faced by the fishermen across the country, is giving opportunities to corporates in all fields, canceling the subsidies given to the poor and placing burdens on the people, as a result of which the fishermen are facing serious difficulties. All over the country, three crore fishermen are directly employed depending on the fishing profession, and for the fishermen who are earning crores of rupees of foreign exchange for the country through fishery exports, it is very unfair to allocate only 6000 crores in the budget of 2023. For Sanksha, we should allocate one lakh crores, give pension to fishers who are 50 years old, build motorcycles and shoe markets for fishers through NCDC, give medical treatment to poor people who died in occupational accidents or died naturally. On 3rd April, the fishermen called for a large number of fishermen to participate in the Delhi program and protest against the central government’s anti-fishery policy to establish insurance and ex gratia policy across the country. TMKMKS district leaders Neela Mallaiah, Bojjam Swamy, Pittala Ravi, Neelam Mallaiah, Pawan, Latha, Aruna, Srilata, Himabindu Kumar and others participated in this district committee meeting.
