Coordinated efforts to protect children’s rights

RPF Assistant Security Commissioner G Srinivas said that efforts should be made to protect the rights of children in a coordinated manner.
On Tuesday at Kazipet railway station, Child Welfare Samithi (CWC) Child Protection Department, Child Line, Railway Protection Force, Railway Police and representatives of voluntary organizations held a coordination meeting under the chairmanship of Child Line Coordinator Ragi Krisha Murthy, Srinivas who was the chief guest said that all departments He said that efforts should be made to protect the rights of children in a coordinated manner, and that most of the children in danger are mainly molested in the railway station itself.He said that it is commendable that they were identified by RPF and GRP and handed over to Child Line 1098 for further rehabilitation. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights had an agreement with them 20 years ago that the Railway Protection Force is a part of the protection of children’s rights. According to those rules, a transit center was first set up at the Secunderabad railway station and the rescued children were set up a bridge school under the supervision of the RPF and then the details of their taluk were found out and a temporary shelter was established. He said they were sent to the Don Bosco center there for rehabil itation and subsequently sent to their native villages.He said that as per the instructions of the superiors, a child rescue room will soon be set up at the Kazipet railway station so that this rescue room will help to provide more services to the children who are running away, missing, begging and needing protection.It has been suggested that a coordination meeting should be arranged with shopkeepers, vendors, porters and sweepers in the vicinity of Kazipet and RPF and Railway Police should work with them to enroll more children.Child Welfare Committee
Chairperson Annamaneni Anil Chander Rao said that if every girl and boy rescued are brought before the Child Welfare Committee under the authority of the concerned authorities, they will be rehabilitated and further steps will be taken.On this occasion, RPF Inspector Sanjiva Rao said that after another coordination meeting, a special drive will be organized soon to establish an action plan to identify children who are vulnerable to child trafficking.
After that, for immediate rehabilitation measures for the protection of children, they inspected the child protection vehicle set up under the auspices of the Women’s Development and Child Welfare Department and expressed happiness.
