Odisha: 3 Union Ministers Among BJP’s Star Campaigners For Jharsuguda Bypoll

Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced its list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Jharsuguda by-election in Odisha.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister for Jal Shakti Bisheswar Tudu have been named as star campaigners for the May 10 bypoll.Former Union Ministers Jual Oram and Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly Jaynarayan Mishra have been made BJP star campaigners for the bypoll.

BJP leaders Sunil Bansal, D. Purandeswari and Vijaypal Singh Tomar, MPs Basanta Panda, Suresh Pujari, Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo and Aparajita Sarangi have also been included in the list.

Former Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, former BJP Odisha unit president Samir Mohanty, former MP Kharavela Swain and MLAs Mohan Charan Majhi, Nauri Nayak, Subash Panigrahi, Mukesh Mahaling, Kusum Tete and Suraj Suryabanshi Sthitaprajan also found place in the list.

The list includes BJP leaders Surama Padhi, Lekhasri Samantsinghar, Golak Prasad Mohapatra and Pruthviraj Harichandan among others.

Notably, the by-election to Jharsuguda Assembly segment is necessitated due to the murder of sitting BJD MLA Naba Das on January 29.

The BJP has fielded youth leader Tankadhar Tripathy as its candidate for the bypoll.
