The by pool in dhamnagar was necessitated due to the untimely demise of deputy leader of BJP Legislature party Bishnu Charan Sethi
Ruling BJD has fielded a grassroot mission sakti Lady Abanti das while suryavanshi Suraj ,son of sitting dhamnagar mla late Bishnu Charan Sethi is contesting as BJP candidate
From Congress a dalit leader and advocate Baba harekrishna Sethi is trying his luck
An independent candidate Pabitra Mohan dash is also in the fray
But all eyes are on rebel & expelled BJD leader and former Dhamnagar mla rajendra das who is going to be the deciding factor
The Dhamnagar by-election will be a litmus test for BJP ahead of 2024 general election
After loosing all the five by polls including the safron stronghold balasore assembly seat in the last three years BJP has a lot of stakes at Dhamnagar
BJD organization secretary Pranab prakash das is strategizing his party’s Campaign while BJP Odisha Incharge Sunil Bansal ,union minister Dharmendra Pradhan,Former Revenue minister Manmohan samal , president Samir mohanty , Union ministers Bisweswar tudu,Ashwini Baishan, National spokeman Sambit Patra are the keymen who have finalized Electoral strategy while state congress president Sarat Pattnaik,AICC secretary Rudra raju,Jatani mla Suresh routray ,Former Bhadrak MP ananta Sethi and other leaders are spearheading congress campaign
Meanwhile Chief electoral officer Sushil Kumar Lohani has visited dhamnagar and held a meeting with district administration on the preparedness for the 3rd November By pool
The counting of votes will take place on 6th November
