Karyashala – One-week High-End Research Training Program on “ Material Science in Additive Manufacturing”
held at NIT, Warangal

One week High-End Research Training Program – Karyashala on “Material Science in Additive Manufacturing” inaugurated today at 10:00 AM in Khurana Hall of Seminar Halls complex, NIT Warangal. The training program is organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and is sponsored by DST-SERB under Accelerated Vigyan Project.
Dr. Vamsi Krishna Balla, Chief Scientist and Head (CSIR, CGCRI, Kolkata), chief guest of the event congratulated NIT Warangal for organising the training program. He said that there are several applications with Additive manufacturing and the participants will be highly benefited from the training program.
Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi, Director, NIT Warangal wished the participants a great learning experience. He asked the participants to practice and gain hands-on experience during the training program. He said he is happy to know that NIT Warangal has established a Metal 3D printing facility and have signed an MoU with National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM). NIT Warangal has also taken the Initiation to start M. Tech in Additive Manufacturing in collaboration with Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Bangalore. This program is the first of its kind in India, he said.
Dr. Uma Maheswar from GE Aviation, Bangalore was the guest for the program. The event was coordinated by Dr. Manjaiah M, Prof. Y. Ravi Kumar, Prof. Adepu Kumar, and Prof. V. Suresh Babu (Head of the Department) participated in the inaugural function.
25 participants from various research organizations are participating in the seven-day training program.
