Good opportunity for women in food products sector

Nabard DGM Deepti Sunil said that there are very good opportunities for women in the field of food products. Under the Sarvodaya Youth Organization, NABARD Deputy General Manager Deepti Sunil was the chief guest for the program presided over by Damodar. Addressing the women, he said that due to the good income opportunities in the food products sector, big business enterprises are also making profits in the food production sector. As the women in the rural areas naturally have professional skills, they should develop good knowledge in the food sector and work hard to increase the demand for the food products in the market. NABARD Assistant General Manager Chandra Shekhar said that NABARD supports economic development programs that contribute to women’s empowerment, as part of which NABARD SERVO DAYA Youth Organization conducted 15 days of training for 90 aspiring women. He said that there is a good demand for tomato sauce, chili sauce, biscuits with chirudhanya and meat pickles etc. in the market. As part of the training for women, marketing skills, food processing license and branding packaging should be learned in the training. The organization has organized many vocational training programs for women. About 3000 poor women have been provided interest-free loans to increase women’s livelihood, he said. After this training, Swagriha Home Foods Shop was inaugurated by NABARD DGM & AGM and Sarvodaya Karya Darshi under the auspices of Swakrishi Food Products Association in Uppal village. Sarvodaya Project Manager Kaviraj, Field Officers Akhtar, Tirumala Sarojana Kavitha and others participated in this program.
