DHARITRI to Honour Mother Earth and display the richness of odia culture celebrated By Utkal Samaj Rhein-Main, Frankfurt, Germany

Utkal Samaj Rhein Main (USRM), Frankfurt (Germany) organized a remarkable event called ‘Dharitri’ to honor Mother Earth and display the richness of Odia culture. President (Bibhu Ashis Mohanty) and Vice-President (Amit Kumar Rawal) led the event by fostering a strong sense of community. USRM aimed to raise awareness about Odisha’s cultural heritage and promote sustainable living. The Chief Guest of the event, Consulate General Of India Dr.AmitTelang appreciated the efforts for this new initiative and underlined that Sustainability and respect for nature are part of the Indian ethos. Around 650+ people attended the event featuring diverse stalls exhibiting Odisha cultural artifacts, including Chandoi and silver filigree works. Attendees were treated to captivating cultural performances like traditional folk dances such as Sambalpuri, Odia band singing to the tunes of famous Odia songs and other Indian dance forms. The highlight of the event was the Dharitri Fashion Show choreographed by Monalisha Mohanty and Minakshi Adhikari, showcasing a variety of Odisha handloom products ranging from Sambalpuri, Pasapalli, Bomkai and Berhampur Patta saris, dresses and Kurtas. Delightful Odia delicacies, such as Chennapoda, Manda peetha, ChennaKheeri and Dahi Bara Aloo Dum, were savored by the guests while they learned about the intricate cooking methods. Notably, the event emphasized eco-friendly practices, aligning with Odia traditions and values. The USRM community succeeded in celebrating their festival and sharing the vibrant Odia culture with the local population in Frankfurt, Germany, leaving a lasting impression of unity and sustainability.
