International conference begins at NIT Warangal

In honor of Prof V. Rajeswar Rao, Department of chemistry’s superannuation, the Department of Chemistry is organizing an ‘‘International Conference Organic and Medicinal Chemistry-2023 (ICOMC-2023)’’ during 28-30th June. Eminent scientists and Professors from abroad and India are participating in this conference to deliver their lectures and research topics.
Nobel laureate Prof. Ada Yonath from Israel has delivered an online lecture. Prof. Ada Yonath discussed about the “Next generation antibiotics”. Prof Ada Yonath says that this conference helps in bringing new ideas in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry. She also says that there should be extensive research on various antibiotics. Keynote Speaker Prof. D. Basavaiah from Hyderabad Central University has delivered a lecture on “39-years old Baylis – Hilman reaction and experiences’’.
Further, a total of 270 professors, Research Scholars and PG students are participating in this conference a total of 33 oral presentations and 133 poster presentations will be presented during these three days.
NIT Warangal Director, Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi during his address said, because of scientific discussions with abroad and Indian scientists, there will be new ideas and development in the science particularly in Organic and medicinal Chemistry.
Chief guest Prof. Mahesh Lakshman from USA, “Science will develop and inculcate new ideas in budding scientists with these type of International Conferences” he added. Guest of honor, Prof. Roderick Bates said that there is an advanced research in the fields of Organic, Medicinal, organometallics and nanomaterials. These developments in the research provide innovations in the generation of antibiotics, anti-cancer compounds, vaccines etc. Prof. Mahesh lakshman from USA, Prof. D.B. Ramachary from University of Hyderabad, Prof. B. K. Patel from IIT Guwahati, Dr. Swamy Subramaniam from Ignite life sciences, Prof Roderick Bates from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Dr. Srinivas Reddy, Director, IICT Hyderabad, Prof Beeraiah Baire from IIT Madras and other Scientists from various pharma industries are participating as speakers during the conference. The Head, Department of Chemisty Prof. D. Kashinath, Conveners Dr. B. Srinivas, Dr. K. Hari Prasad, Dr. Santhosh Penta and other Professors have participated in the inaugural session.
