Kolkata Aug. 12. Tax Professionals are a bridge between department and taxpayers said Justice Rajesh Bindal a Judge of Supreme Court while inaugurating Annual Conference organized by Direct Taxes Professionals’ Association (DTPA) Kolkata Today. Pointing out freebies given by various Governments, he advised professional fraternity to get details by using their Right to Information (RTI) and take steps to stop unnecessary expenditure from money collected from taxpayers, he added.
CA DS Agarwala, President, DTPA welcomed all dignitaries and Speakers. Sanjay Bajoria elaborated Theme of the Conference “Navigating Economic Development- Expectations from Professionals”.
CA NK Goyal and CA Vikash Parakh informed that Session Chairmen and Speakers from all over the country deliberated. These include Sr. Adv. Abhratosh Majumdar, CA Jagdish T. Punjabi, Adv. Bharat Raichandani, Ajay Bagga, Market Analyst and Mr. BL Mittal. A panel discussion was also organized on Expectations from Professionals, which was addressed by ; CA (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, Immediate Past President, ICAI; CA Nihar N Jambusaria, Past President, ICAI; CA P.R. Ramesh, Former Chairman – Deloitte India; and CA Shailesh Haribhakti.
On sidelines of the Conference Adv. Narayan Jain said that DTPA was established on 28th August, 1982 and now it has within its fold 1800 members including Advocates, Chartered Accountants and Company Secretaries. The Annual Tax Conference is a signature event of DTPA he added.
While proposing vote of thanks CA Manjulata Shukla, Secretary DTPA informed that more than 400 delegates participated in the Conference.
