NIT Warangal Celebrates Hindi Diwas with Literary Extravaganza and Quiz Competition

National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NITW), reverberated with the mellifluous verses of celebrated Hindi poets as it celebrated Hindi Diwas with great zeal and fervour. The event, organised by the students of the Literary and Debating Club, showcased the beauty and diversity of Hindi literature through poetic recitations and a quiz competition on Hindi idioms.
The evening began with a captivating display of Hindi poetry that spanned various ‘rasas’ or emotions in Hindi literature. From the powerful verses of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar to the spiritual eloquence of Tulsidas, the students eloquently orated poems that touched hearts and souls. Each ‘rasa,’ from love to anger, joy to sorrow, was expertly portrayed by the participants, leaving the audience in awe of the rich heritage of Hindi literature.
The highlight of the evening was a quiz competition focused on Hindi idioms. Participants showcased their knowledge of the intricacies of the language as they deciphered various idioms.
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. D. Srinivasacharya, the Dean of Student Welfare, and Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi, the Director of NITW. Both dignitaries praised the students for their efforts in promoting the Hindi language and literature. He said “Language is not just a means of communication; it’s a repository of our culture and heritage”. He further added that the celebration of Hindi Diwas at NIT Warangal was a testament to the institution’s commitment to promoting linguistic and cultural diversity.
Prof. D. Srinivasacharya emphasised the importance of preserving and celebrating our linguistic diversity. Certificates were distributed to the winners of the quiz competition.
The event concluded on a high note with participants and attendees rekindling their love for Hindi literature. It not only celebrated the language but also fostered a sense of pride among the students for their linguistic and cultural heritage.
