The Asia-Oceania Sonochemical Society 5th meeting: International Conference was organized by NIT Warangal during 28th to 30th September. The valedictory of the event was organized today in Seminar Halls Complex of NIT Warangal. This conference aims to bring out ideas and scopes to meet today’s challenges associated with the real-life applications of sonochemistry and sono-technology. 250 Delegates from China, Australia, Korea, Japan, Brazil, and Brunei have participated in this conference. Also, professors and students from esteemed institutions like IITs, NITs, and CSIR Laboratories have presented their work at this conference.
The chief guest for the conference Inaugural program was Shri. S.K. Varshney, Adviser &Head – International Cooperation, DST, Government of India. Plenary lectures were delivered by Prof. A. B. Pandit, AOSS Chairman & Vice Chancellor, ICT Mumbai and Prof. Érico M. M. Flores, Federal University of Santa Maria Santa Maria, RS – Brazil. Keynote lectures were delivered by Prof. Judy Lee, University of Surrey, Guildford, Surrey, United Kingdom; Prof. Susumu Nii, Kagoshima University, Japan; Prof. Sivakumar Manickam, University of Technology Brunei, Brunei Darussalam; Prof. Parag R. Gogate, Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai ; Prof. S Anandan, National Institute of Technology Trichy; Dr. Sunita Jadhav, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune; Prof. Dr Grzegorz Boczkaj, Gdansk University of Technology, Poland; Marcia Foster Mesko, Federal University of Pelotas – UFPel, Pelotas, RS, Brazil; Dr. Tanmay Basak, Indian Institute of Technology Madras ; and Dr. T. Bhaskar, Tata Long Products Limited, Jamshedpur. Also several faculty and researchers from IITs, NITs,ARCI, CSIR laboratories and deemed universities delivered the advancements in this field.
Sustainability remains the key focus, ensuring equitable growth while considering the long-term impact on the environment. This conference has opened a fresh gateway to collaborations among academicians, researchers and industrialists to explore the scope of utilizing ultrasound technology in obtaining sustainable -intensified processes. Chemical industries, chemical engineers, and chemists play a dual role in contributing to the nation’s growth and environmental protection.
