Kolkata:

Children’s Day celebrations at BITM was a vibrant affair this year. The 1500 participants for today’s Children’s Day event were from Techno India Group, Kalyani Public School, Loreto House (Rainbow Home), St. Augustine’s Day School, Prochesta Foundation, Jagriti Vidyapith, along with NGOs Kolkata Bhalobashi Foundation and Prochesta Foundation.

Barsha Paswan (Class-4) and Kusum Sardar (Class-3), both from Loreto House (Rainbow Home) were jumping with joy at having had the opportunity to release colourful balloons with environment – friendly slogans. Performances by members of Prochesta Foundation enthralled audiences with their engaging acts raising awareness on mental-health issues. Rekha Banerjee, Advisor, Prochesta Foundation and members Saraswati Parui (Class-9) and Anwesha Das (Class-7) told us that they have been looking forward to this interaction and rehearsing for these performances for the past 2-3 months. All audiences were treated to a live show with super-cold liquid nitrogen’s properties – including a giant cloud made by combining this super-chilled liquid with boiling water. Finally, they participated in the open-to-all contest to identify and mimic the call of birds.
