THE STATE-LEVEL MAHISAMARDINI SARASWAT CEREMONY IS CELEBRATED
Bhubaneswar: The state-level Mahismardini Saraswat ceremony has been celebrated in great way at the Buddha Temple Assembly Hall on behalf of the Keivalya Sahitya Sansad . Poets and Literati from different districts of the state recite poems on Jagatjanani Maa. In the opening poems meet, a devotional offering was offered “Jaya Maa Singha Bhahini” by Bijaya Paital. The program was organized in two sessions. On the said occasion, Prof. Dr. Kumarabar Das,Ex Vice-Chancellor participated as the inaugural speaker and beautifully explained the significance of motherhood worship in Odia culture. As the chief guest, Dr. Alekh Chandra Parhiari, former administrative secretary, joined and gave information about how Daushara Puja has kept the social values intact. The chief speaker, Dr. Pratibha Maharathi , Ex sahitya akademi member gave a beautiful presentation about the importance of Shakti Puja from mythology times. Dr. Harihar Kanungo, Former director of Odia Language and culture presided over. As the guest of honour, Dr.Dillip Senapati, Principal Prachi Mahavidyalaya, Poet Bideshi Nayak (Kandhamal), Lalitendu Palauri senior columnist, Godabarish Das, Dr. Surendra Nath Tripathi, Aparna Mishra, NabaKishore Samantaray, Poet Snehashri Swain joined and explained the victory of truth over falsehood. Odissi Dancer Poonam Sahu, Dancer Adyasha Parida and Dancer Adyasha Anandita performed “Durga Tandab”. special features of “Kaivalya” were unveiled. Founder and Editor Dr.Sangram Keshori Samantaray read the editorial notes and explained importance of Dussehera and provided guidance to writers. Presenter Jayashree Patnaik, Dr. Swagatika Sahu, Dr. Rashmi Kar, Poet Survi Dwivedi conducted the meeting. Poet Pushpalata Mishra took charge as the program coordinator. Mahismardini Saraswat Honour was awarded to more than a hundred writers and other writers of the state based on the articles they contributed to Kaivalya Sahitya magazine. More than 50 social workers were honored with state-level meritorious services .
