,68th Conference of Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics inaugurated(ISTAM)

The 68th edition of Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics(ISTAM) is being organized from 7th December – 9th December 2023 at NIT Warangal. The conference is being organized jointly by Departments of Mathematics, Civil and Mechanical Engineering of National Institute of Technology Warangal in association with ISTAM head quartered at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India.
The inaugural of the conference took place this morning at Ambedkar Learning Center. Dr. M.V. Ramana Murthy, Project Director, Deep Ocean Mission Project & Director, National Centre for Costal Research was the chief guest of the inaugural program. Prof. I.S. Shivakumara, President ISTAM, Prof. Dipak Kumar Maiti, Secretary ISTAM, Prof. Brestensky Jozef, Slovakia, Prof. David Laroze, Chile, Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi, Director, NIT Warangal were the guests during the inaugural.
Dr. M. V. Ramana Murthy in his inaugural address spoke on the climate change challenges in water, food and energy security across the globe.
Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi welcomed all the delegates to 68th Congress of ISTAM. He said the institute is very happy to organize the event and looks for a fruitful academic deliberation.
Prof. I.S.Shivakumara, President, ISTAM said “ISTAM society is established by visionary leaders of the scientific community to foster research in science and engineering, with a particular emphasis on interdisciplinary research in applied mechanics within the country”. This is the 68th edition of the conference he said.
Prof. H. P. Rani, Organizing Secretary of ISTAM 2023 thanked the sponsors for the support rendered and gave an overview of the conference.
Over 210 faculty, research scholars have attended the inaugural and will be presenting their research work over the next three days.
