WIM Saina Salonika led Delhi University to become Champion and clinch double Gold  in the North Zone Inter University Chess Tournament

Woman International Master Saina Salonika of Odisha led the Delhi University Team to win the North Zone inter university chess tournament which was held at Bundelkhand University Jhansi from 8th to 10th January 2024.Panjabi University Patiala bagged the Silver Medal while Himachal Pradesh University Shimla got the Bronze medal with four wins each. Delhi University team comprising WIM Saina Salonika of Miranda House College , Arushi Kotwal of Indraprastha College ,Taniska Kotia of SRCC Anjitha  Krishna Kumar of Kalindi College Purnima Gupta of Sriram College of Commerce (SRCC) , defeated all their five opponents I.e 1)Garwal University Srinagar 2)Himachal Pradesh University,Shimla 3)Punjabi University, Patiala 4)Punjab University, Chandigarh 5)NSUT Delhi They won all the five matches and bagged the Gold Medal Saina won all the five games and also bagged the individual Gold Medal in the Board No -1 .Last year also Saina led the Delhi University team to bag the Gold Medal in the North Zone Inter University Chess Tournament Principal of Miranda house college Professor  Dr Bijayalaxmi Nanda , Sports Director Professor Dr Amrita Rana and Sports Coordinator Dr Neeru Yadav congratulated Saina and her team mates  for the achievement in the inter university tournament .
