During the Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha, Shri Niranjan Bishi, MP, addressed the urgent need for the establishment of Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in Patnagarh, Titilagarh, and another district of Odisha. Shri Bishi fervently emphasized the dire educational requirements of the underprivileged area and the need for a KV to support the educational aspirations of children, especially those from various Central Government employee families. Shri Bishi highlighted that despite the diligent efforts of the District Administration, which has arranged 10 acres of land and temporary accommodation at Patnagarh for KV, there has been no further action by the Government of India towards the establishment of the Kendriya Vidyalaya. Additionally, Shri Bishi highlighted that there are pending proposals for new KVs under the jurisdiction of the KVS Bhubaneswar Region, namely Tilagarh- No. 1 Bolangir, Patnagarh- No.2 Bolangir, Talcher- No. 1 Angul, Athamalik- No.1 Angul, ITBP Khurda- Khurda Road, Kuchinda-No. 1 Sambalpur, Kamakshanagar- Dhenkanal, Jeypore-Koraput, and Shri Bishi emphasized the urgent need to expedite these processes swiftly to ensure the timely establishment of Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Moreover, Shri Bishi said that particularly Patnagarh, Titilagarh, and other districts of Odisha, an underprivileged area, have a critical need for educational support, particularly through the establishment of Kendriya Vidyalayas, which would significantly benefit children from Central Government employees’ families, including Railway employees, Postal employees, Bank and Insurance employees, Bharatiya Khadya Nigam, BSNL employees, and various other employees working under both Central and Odisha State Governments.
Shri Bishi urgently called upon the intervention of the concerned authorities to expedite the pending processes, urging the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan authorities to ensure the swift establishment of Kendriya Vidyalayas at Patnagarh, Titilagarh, and in other districts of Odisha in time for the upcoming academic session. Shri Bishi emphasized that this initiative aligns with the commitment to providing quality education in underdeveloped regions, catering to the educational needs of students from both the Government of India and the State Government employees.
In his closing remarks, BJD MP Shri Niranjan Bishi expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chairman Rajya Sabha for the opportunity to raise this critical issue.
