Saina Clinches Silver Medal in World University Games
Woman International Master (WIM) Saina Salonika of Odisha clinches individual Silver Medal in the World University Mind Sports Chess Games held at Entebbe , Uganda from 25th June to 30th June . Saina along with Akanksha Hagwane ,Mokshada Mohajan and Junu Birua represented Indian University Team. While Saina studies in Miranda House College of Delhi University, Akanksha Hagwane and Mokshada are studying in Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune .Another Odia girl Junu Birua represented KISS University Odisha in the Indian team. Akanksha and Saina scored 6.5 points each . But Akanksha bagged the Gold Medal due to better bucholoz points . Saina remained undefeated in the tournament by winning four games and drawing five games. Starting the tournament as 8th seed Saina lost the gold medal by a whisker and remained satisfied with the Silver Medal.This is 22nd International medal for Saina.Starting the tournament with 2103 rating Saina gained 48.6 valuable rating points . Both Mokshada and Junu Birua scored 4.5 points and secured 17th and 18th position respectively.
