Cuttack Remembers Ashwini Kumar Swain : Champion of Cooperative Development
Bhubaneswar (KCN Bureau): Ashwini Kumar Swain, a retired cooperative officer and esteemed resident of Cuttack Tinigharia, passed away recently. His demise has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends and the cooperative community.
Swain’s illustrious career began in 1969 when he joined the Odisha Cooperative Service. Over the decades, he served in various capacities across Odisha, ultimately retiring in 2002 as an Additional Registrar. His tenure was marked by significant contributions to the revitalization of the Cooperative Department. Notably, Swain was instrumental in ensuring the availability of Amul products from Gujarat in households across Odisha showcasing his dedication to enhancing the cooperative sector.Beyond his professional accomplishments, Swain was actively involved in numerous cultural and spiritual programs. His commitment to these activities reflected his deep-rooted values and his desire to enrich the community.At the time of his passing, Swain was surrounded by his loving family including his wife Nirmala Swain, sons Amresh and Alokesh, daughters-in-law, daughter Lopamudra, son-in-law Dr. Kahnu Charan Dhir and grandchildren. The family gathered at the village cremation ground in Tinigharia, his birthplace to perform his final rites honoring his life and legacy.

He highlighted Swain’s unparalleled contributions to the cooperative movement and his significant role in various cultural and spiritual endeavors.
