Journalists Strategize Online : Set Agenda for IFSMN, NMC,RPM Delhi Summit

New Delhi,(KCN Bureau):The Indian Federation of Small and Medium Newspapers (IFSMN), one of the nation’s largest Media organizations, held a significant online meeting through Google Meet, where various media organizations came together to strategize and unite under a common cause. The discussions set the stage for an upcoming in-person meeting in New Delhi on September 21st and 22nd.
The online meeting, pre-arranged by IFSMN, was chaired by senior journalist and founder of the organization Pushpa Pandya, alongside Dr. Pabitra Mohan Samantary, Chief National Cordinator .
. The event was co-organized by the National Media Confederation (NMC) and the Cyber Journalists Association (CJA) & Rashtriya Patrakaar Mahasangha (RPM) with CJA’s National General Secretary, Shibu Khan playing a crucial role.
During the meeting, representatives from numerous journalist organizations participated, discussing future strategies and the pressing issues faced by journalists in India. Dr. Pabitra Mohan Samantary emphasized the importance of unity among media organizations and called for a collaborative approach to future challenges. The participants unanimously supported the idea and confirmed their commitment to attending the upcoming meeting in Delhi.

Shibu Khan expressed concerns about the current state of journalism in the country, advocating for the implementation of a Journalist Protection Law. He also proposed the introduction of a Media Samman Nidhi, a fund aimed at providing honorariums and pensions to journalists along with the construction of dedicated housing and the establishment of a journalist registry.In line with these discussions, the acting President of IFSMN and President of We the People (WTP) pledged full support for initiatives that would benefit journalists. IFSMN National Treasurer Y.K. Narayan Purkar also assured participants of his commitment to promoting the organization and supporting its growth.

NMC Chief national convenor Sushil kumar sharma , Sr members Amin Qadri, Amar Narayan Swamy, Narendra Babu, Parth Ray, , , Navneet Rawat, Shahenshah Abdi, Priyanka Yadav, Sanjay Mishra and Sunil Srivastava shared their insights on how to ensure the success of the upcoming meeting in Delhi.
The online meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from IFSMN National Treasurer YK Narayan Purkar, who expressed his gratitude to all participants for their dedication and support. Journalists from different states across India were present, highlighting the broad-based commitment to advancing the interests of the journalism community.
As the media landscape continues to evolve, the upcoming meeting in Delhi is expected to be a pivotal moment in the ongoing efforts to protect and empower journalists across the country.
