Sharat Kumar Kar’s 4 th death anniversary observed

The 4th death anniversary of veteran politician, eminent orator, literary and spiritual speaker late Sharat Kumar Kar was celebrated yesterday evening at Jaydev Bhawan in the capital city of Bhubaneswar in the presence of many dignitaries .
Mr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, the former MP and minister and recently the Dy leader of opposition party in Odisha Legislative Assembly, attended the memorial ceremony organized by Sharat Kar and Anima Kar Foundation as the chief guest and inaugurated the ceremony by lighting a lamp in front of Sri Jagannath’s Statue.
The organizers, including the distinguished guests, paid their respects by garlanding the effigy of Late Sarat Kumar Kar. At the beginning of the meeting, Bande Utkal Janni, the Odisha state song composed by Kantkabi Lakshmikant Mahapatra, was played on instrumental music.
Mr. Prasad Harichandan, ex-minister and eloquent speaker, attended the memorial meeting of former speaker and popular politician Sarst Kar as the keynote speaker and delivered a memorial lecture on the theme “Role of Speaker in Current Polar Politics”.
Mr. Sarat Kar and Anima Kar Foundation Chairman and former Income Tax Commissioner Mr. Shovan Kar presided over the occasion. Mr. Avni Chandra Das, Foundation Coordinator and Editor of “Nirvik” magazine, coordinated the program and delivered the welcome speech and introduced the guests. Speakers must be liberal, impartial and principled in a sacred house like the Parliament or Legislative Assembly rather than being the mouthpiece of the government. In this context, the guests and the speakers were of the opinion that principles & ideology of Sarat Kar should be emulated by all.
On behalf of the foundation in the memory of renowned politician of Odisha Late sri sarat kar ,his wife Distinguished academician anima kar & his distinguished elder brother Padmashri Rajat Kumar Kar,
the chief guest felicitated Dr. Anup Martha, one of the wireless vocalists and singer Lipika Vivar, a prominent literary, researcher, lecturer respectively. Each promoted talent was presented with a garment, a standard plate, an apron, a bouquet of flowers and a check of Rs.20,000 each.
However, since he could not be present in person at the ceremony to receive the memorial honor, Mr. Kiikesh Singhdeo revealed in a video message that he is receiving it through his wife. Responding to the promotion, the two other talents expressed their gratitude to the foundation’s chairman and selectors.
Three recently published books by the Foundation respectively: English book “As I Go Ahead” written by Mr. Manas Ranjan Mohapatra, poetry collection “Nishabda Ulam” by Ms. Sasmita Panda and “Kabita Pushpa” written by Mr. Avni Chandra Das were guest speakers at this grand ceremony. In addition to being unveiled by the authors, these creative writers were honored with awards, and bouquets. Finally, Mr. Suman Kar, Co Chairman of the Foundation gave vote of thanks.
