Remembering Maharshi Mahesh Yogi on His 17th Mahaprayan Divas

Bhubaneswar, (KCN Bureau): The 17th Mahaprayan Divas of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the world-renowned spiritual leader and proponent of Transcendental Meditation was solemnly observed at Maharshi College of Natural Law, Shaheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar.

The event was marked by reverence, devotion and a collective commitment to the teachings of Maharshi.The observance began with a floral tribute to Maharshi’s statue by staff, students and followers followed by a garlanding ceremony led by Principal Dr. Lokanath Parida, Former Principal, Dr. M.M. Sahu, Vice Principal, Dr. Shasanka Sekhar Chudamani and Dr. Pabitra Mohan Samantaray, Chairman of Maharshi Public School Group & Vedic International Foundation.Following the tribute, a memorial meeting was organized chaired by Principal Dr. Lokanath Parida. Vice Principal Dr. Shasanka Sekhar Chudamani introduced the esteemed guests and emphasized the spiritual and philosophical significance of February 5, the Mahaprayan Divas of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

A soulful musical tribute was presented during the event with a special song composed by Prof. Urmi Devi and sung by Prof. Anshupriya Sahu adding to the reverence of the occasion.Former Principal Dr. M.M. Sahu under whose leadership Maharshi’s statue was installed on the college campus recounted his efforts in integrating Maharshi’s teachings into the academic and spiritual framework of the institution. He elaborated on how these initiatives have benefited both students and staff in their personal and professional lives.The keynote address was delivered by Maharshi’s key disciple Dr. Pabitra Mohan Samantaray who reflected on Maharshi’s timeless teachings and their relevance in today’s world. He urged everyone to practice Transcendental Meditation for mental clarity, physical well-being and a holistic approach to life.The event saw the presence of several eminent academicians and dignitaries including Prof. Lilakhi Panda, Prof. Baishali Singh, Prof. Balaram Swain, Prof. Rajendra Kumar Padhi, Prof. Mihir Ranjan Saran, Prof. Suman Kar, Ashutosh Tripathy, Surendra Kumar Bhuyan, Muralidhar Sahu, Sai Saran Mahapatra, Dibakar Nayak, Prasanta Kumar Mishra, Mrs. Mamata Mishra, Dibyaranjan Pradhan, Lala Sunil Ray, Tapan Mohanty among others.The event concluded with the distribution of sweets to students symbolizing the message of love, peace and harmony that Maharshi Mahesh Yogi stood for.The observance of Maharshi Mahesh Yogi’s 17th Mahaprayan Divas served as a reminder of his profound wisdom and the transformative power of Transcendental Meditation inspiring all attendees to walk the path of self-awareness and inner peace.
