Demand to set up a Welfare Board

A mahadharna program organised in front of the Collectorate on Friday under the auspices of All Hamali Workers Union CITU Hanmakonda district committee demanding resolution of the problems of Hamali workers working in IKP centers . CITU raised slogans to establish a welfare board and to recognize them as workers. On this occasion, CITU district secretary Ragula Ramesh demanded that the state government is lagging behind in working for the welfare of the porters. He demanded that a welfare board should be set up for the porter workers and that the government should give 56 rupees per quintal.They demanded on this occasion to provide accident insurance five lakh rupees insurance facility hto the porters by providing job security to the porters and to give identity cards to the porters for health protection. On this occasion, he demanded to give five lakh rupees. CITU district office bearers Velpula Sarangapani Bollaram Sampath leaders Dinesh Ramesh Rajender Ghamdar Shankar Bokkamahender Jetty Venu along with a large number of porters participated in the program.
