Bangladesh were 35 for 5 at one stage but still managed to post a fighting total, thanks to Towhid Hridoy (100) and Jaker Ali (68). In the chase, India got off to a solid start through Rohit Sharma and Gill. While the captain fell at the score of 41, Gill scored an unbeaten century (101) to take India over the line. “Definitely one of my most satisfying innings I have played. When me and Rohit bhai went out there we decided not cutting the ball so I started using my feet to the fast bowlers as well. When Virat bhai came we were talking about front foot shots being difficult so we planned to play more off the back foot. The first one gave me a lot of confidence and the second one helped me get closer to my hundred so both are satisfying,” said Shubman Gill after the match.
